One of the most famous and popular of Jin Yong's works, Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain is a riveting martial arts tale enmeshed in intrigue, action, and suspense. Set in 1781 Manchuria during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor, it tells the story of the feud between descendants of the bodyguards of the would-be usurper of the Ming dynasty more than a century prior. As the only English version of the Chinese text, Fox Volant has been skillfully rendered by Olivia Mok into a translation that maintains the lucidity and excitement of the original Chinese. Cherished among Chinese readers around the world, it is now available for the enjoyment of English-language audiences interested in wuxia and popular Chinese fiction.
