作者簡介 陳瑞山 國立高雄科技大學 (第一校區) 退休教授,曾任應用英語系主任兼口筆譯研究所所長。中國文化大學英文系畢業。美國愛荷華大學 (University of Iowa, Iowa City) 英文系「愛荷華作家工作室」(Iowa Writers’ Workshop) 藝術碩士(MFA)。德州大學奧斯汀校區 (University of Texas at Austin) 比較文學博士。1986年中華民國優秀青年詩人獎。 出版作品有:《上帝是隻大蜘蛛》(詩集)、《地球是艘大太空梭》(詩集)、《重新出花》(詩集)、《第一次印象》(報導文學)、《東歐當代詩選》(譯評)。英譯雨弦詩《生與死之界的窗口》(The Window on the Border between Life and Death. By Yu Hsien. New York: Cayuga Lake Books, 2017)以及文學和翻譯學術論文等。 About Ruey-shan Chen Born in Taiwan in 1955, Ruey-shan Chen obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from Chinese Culture University in Taipei. He attended the Iowa Writer’s Workshop at the University of Iowa and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1985. In 1986, he was awarded the Excellent Younger Poets prize of the Republic of China (Taiwan). In 1996, he earned a doctorate in Comparative Literature from The University of Texas at Austin. Chen taught courses in creative writing, literature, and translation at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and was chair of the Department of English and director of the M.A. Program in Interpreting and Translation. Himself a poet, Chen’s recent works include The Window on the Border between Life and Death, a translated poetry collection of Yu Hsien’s life-death poems published by Cayuga Lake Books in New York in 2017, and a critical essay “A New Subgenre as an Application of Translation Functional Theories: Yu Hsien’s Life-Death Poetry in Translation,” a research project sponsored by National Science and Technology Council in 2016.
